The 10-Year Journey of New York Toy Collective: From Fantasy to Industry Leader
When New York Toy Collective (NYTC) launched in 2012, the industry was missing something big—products that weren’t just designed for queer and trans people, but by them. What started as a single idea—a product born out of a fantasy that needed to be real—quickly grew into a movement.

Over the past decade, NYTC has pushed boundaries, not only by designing high-quality, body-safe products but by changing the conversation around gender expression and affirmation. Stores that once ignored the needs of trans and nonbinary customers now have entire gender expression sections—something NYTC helped pioneer.
“Our legacy isn’t just the products we make,” says the founder. “It’s the proof of concept. We showed the industry what was possible, and we opened doors for others.”
From our very first product (still a best-seller to this day) to our line of trans masc pumps, NYTC has always focused on innovation, comfort, and affirming experiences. We’ve partnered with healthcare providers, including VA hospitals nationwide, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and thr State University of New York to make sure that gender-affirming tools are accessible, safe, and built for real bodies.
The mission remains simple: to design products that empower people to live authentically, explore their fantasies, and feel at home in their bodies. NYTC started as a spark of an idea, and 10 years later, that spark is still growing.
